Happy (belated 😂) New Year babes! I hope you all had a blissful holiday season with your loved ones I know I did (hence why I went a liiittle MIA from the bloggy during the holidays, oops!). I love everything about the holidays especially the lights/decor everywhere and holiday coffee drinks, but it’s always such a whirlwind! I cannot even begin to express how happy I am that 2017 is over, I feel like it was time for a much needed fresh start. I have a feeling 2018 is gonna be a good one!
One of my goals for this year is to travel more and the boyfriend and I have been off to a pretty good start! Within the last few weeks, we’ve been all ova the place! We went to Big Bear for Christmas with my family, Seattle for New Year’s Eve and we just came back from Vegas! I don’t even know what day it is haha. I love to travel and explore new places, but living out of a suitcase is HARD. How do people do it!? Hopefully, I will be a pro at it one day haha. We are planning some fun trips this year and I can’t wait to share more travel on the blog!
ONE // It is finallllly cold here in California so I pulled out all of my favorite sweaters and fuzzy jackets! Ok, I’ll admit that I actually pulled them all out because I went to Seattle where it’s reallll cold haha. But nonetheless, California has cooled down! I’ve been eyeing this cute blush puffer (under $100!) + this adorable cropped teddy coat (under $90!). I also just picked up this North Face jacket because I’m heading to Colorado to visit my boyfriend soon. Crossing my fingers it’ll keep me warm enough, I’ll keep you guys posted haha. Stay tuned, I will be sharing more jacket faves in the next two weeks!
TWO // My body and brain have been so all over the place that it’s been hard for me to think of resolutions/goals that I want to accomplish for this year. I have a few in mind, but really want to reflect on it more before I share them. Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed by the new year. We were in Seattle for NYE so I don’t think it really hit me until we came home, but I will share my thoughts on the next post!
THREE // If you’re thinking this post looks familiar, it’s because it is. Long story short, life happens and sometimes things don’t work out but it’s ok! Remember to ALWAYS know your worth. 💗
FOUR // Sooo I am a HUGE beauty buff and I found some new holy grail products via Courtney Shields that I HAVE to share with you girlies! I tried the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara and it is freaking bomb! I have really small lashes and these make them so long and gorge! She also introduced me to Benefit Cosmetics High Brow in Linen Pink which has been a real lifesaver! I wear it in my waterline on the bottom and in the corner of my eyes. It instantly brightens up your eyes and makes you look so awake which I definitely need haha. Ulta is also having 20% off right now including prestigious brands so jump on it and stock up babes! I’m definitely picking up some of my must-haves like the Lancome Cils Booster Mascara Primer, Chloe Pen Spray– I ALWAYS have this in my purse + it’s easy for travel!, Simple Cleansing Wipes– these are my favorite, I use these to remove my makeup and then I cleanse my face + I always go back to it (I like the Micellar Water Wipes too if not more, but they are pricier), and the Invisbobble Traceless Hair Ring– ok, so I also discovered these from Courtney Shields and I love them because they actually hold up my thick hair!
FIVE // I am on a major job hunt and forgot how much work it is to redo your resume and write cover letters! S/O to Alfred Coffee for giving me some much needed motivation! When I was applying for my internship that I actually got hired at my last job, my resume didn’t save and somehow DELETED itself. I WAS DEVASTATED. How dumb of me, right? My art professor and now friend Rose introduced me to canva, which is a site you can design all sorts of things including resumes. I was not familiar with Photoshop at the time and needed to create a creative and fun resume for advertising agency internships so yeah, now I am a save-crazy lady haha. I found this article on how to write a cover letter in 2018 via Jess Ann Kirby (she’s one of my faves!) on Instagram and thought it was super helpful!
OH, one more thing! In the midst of the new year, I thought I would start it off fresh + clean so I decided to start project declutter! I started with my closet this week and I got rid of SO MUCH stuff! I have a hard time hanging onto items that hold memories for me yet, I know I will NEVER wear it again. Since I started dating Andrew, he has helped me a lot with this and it actually gets easier! I interned for the Los Angeles Clippers for years and have tons and tons of tees and I am finally parting ways with most of them. Up next, my beauty stash… this is will be interesting haha. Do it with me friends! It’s the best feeling!
PS. SALE ALERT! Besides Ulta doing 20% off (including prestigious brands), Levi’s is also doing 30% off site wide AND free shipping with code 30VIP (ends 1/26)! Some of my favorite styles are included! The Wedgie Fit, 721 High Rise Skinny, 501 Skinny Jeans (I have the color Old Hangouts!) + how cute is this Baggy Trucker Jacket!
I am packing up + heading to Colorado on Thursday to see my boyfriend! I am so excited (and slightly scared haha) to experience some real winter weather! I hope you are all having a wondering week! Chat soon! xx
